True story from the Adventure Time Panel:

But Andreas, how was TCAF?

It was amazing!

I spent way too much money,
I met a bunch of the nicest people working in comics AND the Anthology
sold like hot cakes.
Here are some terrible photos I took:

Quiet before the storm, 30min. before the opening on Sunday

And the then, a bit later, PEOPLE EXPLOSION!

Thats the view from the Anthology booth, on the second floor

And our table, here to see Mr. Rawls on the left and Mr. Thornborrow on the right

The people AT the convention were way less weird and way more nice then I thought. People loved the first Volume of the book so much, they really were exited
to buy the second.
Doing sketches was fun as well and I cant wait to do it again next year.
And THEN I`ll buy even more stuff.
Hooray!

Good day!

1) Had a excellent weekend with tasty Indian food, UFC 129
(55.000 people went to see it here at the Rogers Center) and my lady.

2) Did some more work on the story I`m working on,
trying to push the contrast to make it read better.

Mostly mimicking what worked for Chuck Jones crew in
Rabbit Seasoning

3) Doodled in a cafe while eating mushy vegan chocolate stuff:

4) Bought some cheap books at the used book store here, including an early hard cover version of one of my favorite novels

And this, so far, looks well put together:

5) And if you want to see a funny, interesting movie with a VERY DIFFICULT setup,

FOUR LIONS

6) Oh and please remember that the most amazing thing is going on
THIS WEEKEND!

They just added the floor plans (here and here) and its crazy to read all those names that constantly produce cool stuff.

They also have events like “A Conversation with the Artists of Adventure Time” or “The New German Comics Culture” Amazing!
I`ll try to make pictures of people looking annoyed, dancing comic artists at the party OR the lines in front of the Pendelton Ward signing.
And again, free watercolor drawings for people that spent money on the Anthology Project! WHAT A DEAL!

Hello!

It is time to blog again after a couple of months of not thinking about post worthy movies, sketches or happenings.

BUT now that Toronto finally is getting warmer, now that this website has been updated and now that there is actually a nice backlog of things to post, onwards with the blogging!

The Anthology Project / TCAF

The book is finally available and its super beautiful.
There is even a special price (a 10$ discount) if you order the first Book with the second one.
Here are some impressions, taken from Joy Angs Flickr:

If buying things online is not of your liking AND if you are in Toronto on the first weekend of May, you should come by the Toronto Comic Arts Festival!

I will be there with some of the other creators that are in the book AND I will be handing out freshly made watercolor sketches of turnips, Spider-Man or anything else that you fancy when you buy a book.
Oh and other people like Chester Brown, Darwyn Cooke, Brecht Evens and Chris Ware are going to be there as well!

To end this, a small “behind the scenes” of things that led to my part of the book:

Character doodles, a better character idea and some color tests:

And a final double page spread that I really like:
